MLC’s Guide to your LCD/LED screen replacement purchase

 

Step 1: Pre-installation

  1. Many of our screens come with protection film on the surface of the glass. Please make sure that you remove it before completing installation. See this page for more information
  2. Please inspect the screen for any signs of physical damage, including cracks or bending. See this page for details on how to check for damage.
  3. Before you start installation, it is very important that you take the battery out of your laptop and disconnect the power cable. This will prevent shorts during the installation of the screen.

 

Step 2: Screen Installation

Below are some instructional videos to help with the installation of your new screen. This first video tutorial will be able to help you install the screen for about 90% of all laptop models on the market:

Step 3: Determining whether your screen is working

Once your screen has been installed, it's now time to power on your laptop to see if the screen is working properly:

  1. If your screen is not displaying anything, we will first need to see if the screen had been damaged or if it is defective screen. Click here to determine if it was damaged during shipping.
    (If the screen is not damaged, then skip to next step)
  2. If your screen is not displaying anything and it’s not considered damaged during shipment but could be defective, click here to see a few reasons why and some common troubleshooting tips.
  3. If your screen is displaying a picture but looks off or incorrect, click here to see a few reasons why and some common troubleshooting tips.

 

If you find the screen is defective based on the information above and you have tried all the recommended troubleshooting tips, then please go to this page for instructions on returning the screen to us.
