Removing the Protective film from the screen.

Most LCD screens sold by MLC Distribution comes with protective film with either 1 or 2 layers. The protective film protects the LCD from scratches and nicks during shipping as well as during the installation.

We recommend that you remove all of the the protective film from the screen before use.

A screen that has 2 layers of protective film

The same screen with the 1st layer being removed

The same screen with both 1st and 2nd layer being removed

If you see a visible print mark on the screen, then this means the protection film has not been removed

The film layer that is stuck on the screen is very easily to peel off due to the weak adhesive used on it. This layer also scratches quite easily, so this may lead some customers to think that the screen is scratched when only the film is scratched. Removing the film will clear out any scratches.

In addition to the protective film, EVERY LCD comes with THICK polarized film on it. That film is essential to the operation of the screen and removing it will render the display useless. Luckily it is not very easy to pick off, as it is glued in very well. Take care not to remove this layer.
